1270: Edmund founds Ashridge Priory

Richard’s son Edmund, 2nd Earl of Cornwall, founds a monastery near Berkhamsted, Ashridge Priory, for an  Augustinian monastic order called the Brothers of Penitence (also known as Bonshommes or Bluefriars).
