Crusaders, Murders and Ghosts

Sunday 29 March, 10am – Meet at the Castle Gate.

From the castle siege to haunted pubs, explore the darker side of Berkhamsted. Meet crusaders and highwaymen, Civil War prisoners and the first murderer caught via telegraph message.

This family-friendly gentle walk through the town centre

includes cobbles, steps and uneven surfaces.

Kings & Queens, Dungeons & Dragons

Sunday 26 April, 10am – Meet at the Castle Gate.

In a countryside walk through the Royal Deer Park, discover the

castle’s kings and queens, their knights, lovers, and hangers-on, in a gentle stroll through a beautiful, historic landscape.

This family-friendly walk does not go into the castle. It takes a gentle

pace and includes steep fields, muddy tracks, and narrow gates.

The Curse of the Bridgewaters

Sunday 31 May, 10am – Meet at the Ashridge House Car Park

Explore Ashridge’s shadowy past. Gently wander through

Capability Brown’s wooded landscape and discover monks, royalty,

nobles, and a family haunted by a recurring struggle.

10am, Sunday May 31st – meet at Ashridge House car park.

This gentle, family-friendly walk, which does not go into the house

or gardens, includes hillsides, gates, and muddy tracks.
