Here’s the latest news on the campaign to Save Castle Fields.

Luxury Spanish Hotel Stay Added to Our Charity Auction

Tickets are flying out of the door for The Berkhamsted Ball! Only six tables out of our original 25 are remaining. Gather your friends and fill one of these tables of eight, or come as you are or with a smaller group.

Plus we have a stunning new addition to our list of auction items: a four person stay in 2 suites for 5 nights at Aqua et Oleum, a beautiful boutique hotel in the Extremadura region of Western Spain.

In Latin, “Aqua et Oleum” means “Water and Oil”.  This three-hundred-year-old property's cornerstone was originally a guardhouse built by the Knights Templar in the 13th Century, set in the hills near the picturesque castle town of Trevejo. The old olive oil mill, complete with the mill wheel and a babbling brook, has now been transformed into this luxurious destination boutique hotel and gallery.

It lies in the middle of an olive grove and vineyard in Sierra de Gata on the outskirts of Villamiel in Caceres; this is the “real Spain”.

Save Your Space with what3words

Almost half of the 3m x 3m spaces on the Fields have now been sponsored, but 7,276 plots are still at risk. Check out the live map of the fields at https://www.berkhamstedcastle.org.uk/castlefields/.

Just tap on a square to see the sponsor and their dedication. You can also use the search bar at the top to find your own space if you’re not sure where it lies.

If you haven’t yet sponsored your space (or maybe you can add another to one or more you already have) they are £39 per square, but you can choose exactly how much you’d like to donate on the same page - less or more!
