£200,000 milestone reached!

Since the launch of Save YOUR Space less than two weeks ago, over 1,000 further squares have been sponsored! As of today the total amount raised is now £208,815. So £291,185 to go! 

This is such  had such a fantastic response! Dedications from sponsors (you can see them by clicking the squares on our interactive map) consistently refer to  future generations.

Events at Berkhamsted Castle

Berkhamsted Castle Trust recently had a key meeting with the Assistant Operations Director South and East of English Heritage, where  it was recognised that our campaign would clearly benefit from fundraising events being held in the Castle.

On this subject, a timely report from the Student Consultancy at Berkhamsted School was presented to the Castle Trust on the 17th June by three students. Through stakeholder research, they have identified the types of event which might  be popular (open air cinema was a particular favourite).

More news on Castle events will hopefully follow! In the meantime we soon welcome Moving Parts Theatre Company with their summer productions of Northanger Abbey (27 June) and Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night (11 July). Click here for details.

Another street party in aid of Save Castle Fields was held last weekend! Big thanks to Ben Rolfe and all those who set up and took part in it.  

Auction of Promises, 31 October

A date for the diaries! Our Auction of Promises is all set for 31st October at the Nash Harris Building, Berkhamsted School. We’re delighted to announce that our auctioneers for the evening will be Eric Knowles and John Bly, from the Antiques Roadshow.
