The Battle of Rorkeās Drift Talk
Thursday 12th November, 6.30pm - 8pm, Ashridge House
Join us to hear Douglas Rattray, of Fugitivesā Drift Lodge, Rorkeās Drift, South Africa, continue the legacy of his late father, David Rattray, whose name became synonymous with the interpretation of the Anglo-Zulu War.
Dubbed the 'white Zulu' after the tribespeople he championed, David Rattray was an impassioned expert in the history of his country and almost single-handedly preserved accounts of heroism on both sides of the Anglo-Zulu war of 1879.

Following a recent sold-out event at the Royal Geographical Society, in this acclaimed talk āThe Battle of Rorkeās Driftā, Ā Doug examines one of the most dramatic battles of the Anglo-Zulu War, later made famous by the 1964 film Zulu.
The evening is kindly supported by Ashridge House and is in aid of Save Castle Fields. Doors open at 6pm.
Tickets are £25 per person. To reserve your place and make payment please email zulu1879talk@gmail.com.
